Apiti show day

Well so far it is shaping up to be a good weekend. Off I trotted to MaryAnne's last night to do the food prep for the show. Planned on staying an hour, well the wine came out and I ended up there till midnight! Between the 6 of us we drank about 8 bottles of wine. Stayed till midnight to see in Chonny's birthday. It was the first time in years that my bed has swung around the room - backwards I might add!! Good night though.

Was a bit hungover/tired this morning when bloody Tess woke the kids barking at 6am!! GRR!! My shift at the show went ok, amazing how slow the old brain is on serving and working out change although by the end of it I was doing ok, but me feets were killin me!! Of course I was working and didn't get to take many pics. I arrived as Quinn was having a ride on Taylor's pony, he looks a natural in this pic dontchya think?? I couldn't get over the look on Aislinn's face though grinning like her birthday and christmas rolled into one! I have a feeling she'll be wanting a horse next!!

Thankfully Dad & Sylvia are as bad as me when it comes to taking pics and they took these for me. Peter survived his shift on the BBQ and he seemed to like Sara's hubby Mike. Hopefully we made alot of money for playcentre we certainly sold a ton of pie, sausages and steak sarnies. Kids had fun. Dad fixed up the bunny abode ready for monday - great having a handy father!! They were rapt with the LO I did for them which is cool, they have helped us out alot recently so it is nice to do something in return.

Had a good natter to Bronny this afternoon, she emailed me a lovely photo of the 70s brown and orange kitchen in the house they are looking at getting on their new farm - purty!! I am looking forward to the white leaf LO Bron!

Have managed to talk Mum into coming for tea on tues instead of Monday thankfully or I'd be a stressing to get back from Palmy, cook a roast, aa birthday cake and ice it!! We nearly came to blows over the dad vs shaun issue, she drives me batty with her one eyed opinion that dad is the devil incarnate. She made a veiled comment about Cameron when I said I felt sorry for him missing out on Dad (trying to stay nuetral and not place onus on either Dad or Shaun to sort things ) anyway I got the impression she thinks he isn't missing out. Whatever wrongs Dad has done to her in her mind I can't see how she can think he is anything other than a wonderful Grandad to the kids - just look at this pic of him and Aislinn. That woman will never change, she will be bitter and twisted till the end of her days, but at least nowdays I rise above it and can withdraw myself from her crap. At the end of the day my kids have so much love in their lives with having Dad & Sylvia as part of it that I am glad I am not depriving them of it.

Ahh well I must get to bed, busy day scrapping circle journals tomorrow.

It's goodnight from me and it's goodnight from her.

TGIF!!

Fairly quiet and unexciting day today. I spent the morning cleaning, decluttering and reorganising the pantry, hopefully it will stay like it (yeah right)

Then I took the opportunity to sneak some scrapping in this afternoon while the kids were engrossed in Madagascar. Another A4, this time of my boy looking all cute and innocent.

Also finally got around to scrapping a page for Dad & Sylvia, hopefully they will like it when I give it to them tomorrow. Love Love Love Basic Grey!!! Must check out the new range.

Am off to Maryanne's momentarily to make rolls and sarnies for the show tomorrow, will definately have to get back in time to watch Rove.

Thursday already - where'd the week go??

Scary how fast this week has gone - only 4 sleeps till the Bean is 3!! ARGH!! I'm not ready!! She has changed her mind again about what cake she wants, for ages it was a pool cake with wee dollies in it (not to mention easy for me to make) now she wants a mermaid cake which means way more hard work and stress for me LOL. I am hoping she'll change her mind by monday when I have to get the stuff to make it! (Pic is silly beanie "sleepin" in the suitcase & my big girl on seesaw at playcentre this mornin)

Pretty average day, took the kids to playcentre. While I was there I was talking to Mary who will be Quinn's teacher later in the year and she tells me he can go an afternoon a week for 4 weeks before he starts full time. He also needs to learn to count to 10 and backwards from 10 *gulp* and how to write his name and colours and shapes. Looks like I will be busy, must get onto Jill about getting more focussed stuff from Correspondance school.

Eskimo has gone to work with Daddy so beanie and I are having some peace, not that I have taken advantage of it by doing uhm housework or erm scrapping. Although I did this fab LO last night. Am getting into this size methinks.

Am pondering Peter's plan to move to town and get a 'town job' and buy a house. More he thinks about it the more he thinks it is a good idea. The more I think about it the more I think it is a bad idea. Honestly he will hate working in a factory or something not on the land. He will hate living in town, any job he'd get would be lower in pay, more monotonous and generally crappy. Owning our own house will be a huge expense and we'd be lucky to afford much of one. As far as I can see the only thing wrong with his job at the mo is Apiti's location, if Apiti was in chelty it would be fab!! He is treated ok by his bosses, he gets more time off and sleep ins than in the last dairying job and there is a bit of variety in the job. K&M are generally onto it about getting stuff done around the house and he could have a worse job really. I plan on having an indepth discussion with him on this as I think moving to town would be a disaster. I think if we get out of Apiti more often that I will cope with living here especially once Quinn goes to school.

Nothing else to report so better be a better wifey than I usually am and get the rained on washing off the line and get tea on.

Oh I forgot! Ssshh!! Don't tell anyone but I have applied for a Design team position on a NZ based website, I probably have no show but it is worth a crack nigel!! Cross everything ;)

Hi honey we're home!

Yes bugger it all we are home again (mutter mutter mutter) We had a great time at the beach, puter and all! Actually just as well I took the puter as I ended up taking 648 photos!!! LOL (Lisa tells me this is more than she has taken of her kids in their whole lives) The kids had a blast and were nicely worn out at the end of each day :)

I discovered I quite like fishing and am thinking of spending Peter's $50 hunting and fishing voucher on fishing gear for me ;) I even caught a couple of fish too, but only took a pic of the first and smallest one! I managed to get 2 hours of alone time just for me by taking one bored hubby and 2 bored kids back to the bach so I could go back to the river and fish. Zen and the art of fishing!

We had lots of walks on the beach, collected some shells. I am making a treasure chest like the cool one the Divine Miss E has on the cover of the latest Up2Scrap, they are coming out very cool too. Peter discovered hidden talents in sand art and created some cool turtles, a crocodile and a whale! I have pics LOL!!

Kids are still a bit chicken of the waves and didn't like going into the sea much of course until the final night when they got brave - especially miss bean! Bach was goo, a bit further back from the beach than we would have liked but at that price can't complain.

So now we are home and I am knackered and need a holiday to recover from the holiday. Maybe next time Peter and I can go without the kids??;)

Puppies are huge, we are down to just Jack, Rusty has moved to K&M's, wee sod has inherited his mothers escape artist gene and ended up sleeping in the house last night! NEVER AGAIN!!! He drove me batty worse than a new baby! I am not a puppy person wish they would come out fully housetrained am sick of picking up puppy poo!

Well that is it for today, will put lots of pics on here hehehe!!

One more sleep!!

Woohoo tomorrow is the day!! I have been rushing round like a mad thing all day packing, ironing, washing, cleaning etc. On top of that we have no hot water!! I can't remember if it was Monday evening or Sunday and I heard a bang coming from the hot water cupboard and didn't think much of it. The kids had a cold bath last night LOL and then Peter had a cold shower and we realised we had no hot water. So Kelly organised for the plumber to come check it out, we thought he wouldn't be coming till while we were away but he turned up this afternoon :) YAY!! Anyhoo one of the elements had completely blown - hence the banging. Apparently the bore water is corrosive and caused it to age much quicker than usual. So tonight I can have a hot shower :)

Have managed to refrain from reading scrapping mags by watching new SC DVD instead LOL. Must scrap, need a fix!! Barbara is horrified I am contemplating taking the puter on holiday and is threatening not to speak to me if I do ROFL!! It will depend on how much space is in the car to fit it in. Need a bigger memory card!

Peter came home earlier with a fishing pole looks like WW3 will break out on the Foxton beach peir when the kids argue over who is gonna fish with it first - see I need to take my camera Barbara to get the pic of Peter with a fish hook in his finger cos the man doesn't know how to fish (thankfully he doesn't know how to access my blog eitherROFL!!)

Scarily the plumber was originally from Foxton and lived down the road from the toad and knew him and Steven - small world or wot?? I am secretly sh***ng myself at the prosepect of going anywhere near Foxton for some irrational reason, tisn't like he will be there or anything.

Kids have been right sods today with the Eskimo into the petrol can - one needs to put petrol in a trike you know and then I caught him with the CRC and later with the can of cream out of the fridge GRRR!! He will be lucky to live to get to the beach! Needless to say I am not following my own intentions for the LM wk 2 and have indeed been yelling like mad.

Went through beanie's old photos disc and found aa few to share with you all after all she will be 3 in a weekish.

Yay puppies are off to Kelly & Marty's tonight. Won't have to rush around getting them fed etc in the morning. Managed to keep Tess shut in last night by using my powers for cunning and blocking the back of the kennel with bricks so she couldn't get a pawhold. Will be glad to have a break from her I tell you!!

Well better go finish all the stuff I should be doing. Think of me tomorrow and cross your fingers that my haircut looks nice as it would in fact be a minor miracle!

Rushin about

Busy day today, did a dump and run at playcentre and shot into town. Was tres romantique and bought Peter a dozen red roses and a box of choccies for St Vallies. He doesn't know it yet but he is getting me scrappin supplies ROFL!!

Was well impressed with the haul of mags in Paper Plus for me - 4 scrappin mags and 3 weeklies should keep me entertained at the beach. New Up2Scrap looks good - emailed Evana to see where she bought her treasure chest cos it would be a cool thing to make after our beach trip. Also loved Yolande's cricket album and am gonna make Peter one for his 40th in June.

Took the puppies for their vaccinations - bloody expensive excercise over $100!!! But thankfully I can leave Rusty in Taylor's hands after we get back from the beach. It costs way more than I ever thought to bring up puppies!! I got some good pics today - Rusty and Tazzy playing and one of Jack Sparrow aged 5 weeks.

Geez the bean cracks me up!! here is a pic of her fashion sense today, strip oneself nekkid then put on 2 prs undies, 2 prs shorts and a tshirt as a skirt!!ROFL Need to learn how to remove background to pics LOL!

Woohoo Richard is as I type putting in my new bedroom window to replace the one that fell out of the frame when I opened it when we moved here *oops* It will be nice to have another window to open and no board anymore.

Playcentre meeting was long last night, I found myself volunteering to be Health & Safety officer as well as Librarian and also on a sub committee to get us a new playground *me the non playcentre mummy type??*

Well better do some real work.

Later dudes!

Things are falling into place

Excellent we don't need to take the puppies on holiday!! I rang Kelly this morning and it is ok to send the puppies to them - Taylor is rapt!! Phew only Tazzy dog to come with us. Now if only we could get someone to take the kids;)

Done sod all today, just inanities of housework. Went through a few discs of old pics of the kids and found some I forgot I had, will try and add them on here, must ask the possum if she knows how to put pics in middle of the paragraphs. Oh and how to do a cool title .

Totally obsessed with scrapping my faves album though can't trust small children to not cause utter havoc in house while i am scrappin when Peter is at work. Well that and torturing small puppies.

Off to town tomorrow, gonna drop the kids off at Playcentre and take the puppies in to get their first jabs and grab my mags and get some food which we are desparate for!! I neeed coke!!! Will be nice to get a break from the kids for a few hours. Need to get the bean some new togs and grab some buckets and spades for the beach.

Cool week 2 of the life makeover challenge is up on the boxx, need to think of a quality of me I need to focus on, hmmm yelling at the kids comes to mind - becoming a neat freak would take a year of affirmations ROFL!!

Playcentre meeting tonight - argh!! Will have to miss Desperate Housewives ARGH!!! I tried to tell them to make the meetings for nights when there is nothing on TV but I don't think they thought I was serious - me joke about TV NOT!!! Hmm wonder if I should get Dad to tape it for me!??

Well better get off the puter and get tea on and have a shower before my meeting. (Pic is an old fave of Q with a plane Grandad gave him and the other one is farmer Morty - does that boy look like his dad or wot??)

Ciao

Sunday boring Sunday

Ok so I am no Bono! Today has been a quiet one really. I have spent most of the day on the pc or scrapping. I am becoming blog addicted, have been checking out all the well known scrappers blogs, even if I don't read everything - I really like the look of them crisp and clean. I might have to change my background to white methinks.

Holiday plans have been ongoing, Barbara phoned last night to tell me about a bach advertised in the paper which is $55 a night better than $80!! So I have booked it :) Haven't as yet phoned the other place to lie my butt off to cancel. Ah well we need the $100 we'd be saving more than he does I am sure. We can take Tazzy with us but the big dilemma is what to do with the puppies, Peter tells me that K&M will be away and my plan was to pay Taylor to feed this lot and look after the puppies erm now what??? We may end up having to take the puppies too. I don't think it is wise to let the woman know however LOL. Shame it isn't the holidays or I'd look at a house sitter.

Tazzy is reliving his puppyhood by playing with Rusty Pickle. Silly fat thing!

I am getting into this 8.5x11 scrapping, I managed to create this cool page today, I just love it despite the stupid feckin sewing machine continually spitting the dummy! It is a little bit Erica in the title, a little bit Kim in the stitching and the pp is rather Emily F.

Kids are playing up a bit today, I think they need a holiday from being stuck at home too!

I finally decided what to do my CJ on - "I AM" vague enough yet interesting LOL I have decided to do it in the new 7Gypsies with the pink, black & lime pp so of course I need a trip to Scrapbook alley! ;)he he he oh I probably will need a trip to spotlight too ! Unfortunately it will end up being late in getting sent out - curses to being paid twice a month >(

How on earth do I get the pics in the middle of my writing - I don't wanna have a blog I have to pay for!! Cheap that's me!! Anyway the pics are my fab LO and Rusty Pickle- good plan to name one of them after a scrappin supply wonder if Marty will mind ROFL!!

Well the end of another day only 4 sleeps till we hit the beach!!WOOHOO

We'e going on holiday!!

Well whaddya know you can escape the wilds of Apiti for a week!! We are off to the beach for 4 nights WOOHOO!! Just need to figure out what to do about the amount of photos I am likely to take, no chance of a 2GB card, might have to take the pc on holiday ROFL!!

Managed to scrap 3 LOs today, am starting to get used to the 8.5x11 format, it is great for using scraps and 6x4pics seeing I am outta ink it is fun to scrap old pics from pre digi days.

Beanie is still playing with a baby today- miracle! She never plays with dolls!

On the hunt for a missing Stinky Q Bear again! Why oh why can't the boy leave him in his bed?? The poor bear has nearly reached the end of his life and Quinn insists on carting him around everywhere! Poor Stinky bear! No luck in finding him so he may have to go to bed without him.

Unexciting Saturday today, gassed on the phone with Bronny and scrapped that is about it!

bedebede that's all folks!
